The BIMLOGIQ Public Command - Pipe Opening automates the process of creating openings where pipes intersect with walls and floors in Revit. Instead of manually identifying intersections and cutting openings, this command streamlines the workflow by detecting pipes and generating precise openings based on user-defined settings.

Features

Users can manually select pipes to create openings only where necessary. If pipes exist in a linked mechanical model, they can be selected using the "Pipes in Link File" option to ensure coordination across disciplines. Openings can be applied to walls, floors, or both, offering flexibility in project requirements. A customizable gap can be added around openings for installation tolerances, ensuring proper fitment. When multiple pipes pass through the same element closely, nearby openings can be merged into a single larger cut instead of multiple small ones. Users can also define a merge tolerance, specifying the distance within which separate openings will be combined for better space utilization.

Use Cases

MEP and Structural Coordination

Ensuring that pipe openings are accurately placed helps avoid clashes between mechanical and structural elements, improving BIM coordination.
